In order to make a virtue out of necessity, Ardbeg allowed the Fermutation to mature in barrels for 13 years. It was allowed to store in first \u0026amp;refill ex-bourbon barrels. It was bottled in its natural form. It does not contain any dyes or cooling filtration. The alcohol content of the limited edition is 49.4 percent by volume. Since its release, the sought-after whiskey has consistently achieved higher prices on the secondary market. It led to an interesting experiment, as six washbacks with tens of thousands of litres of fermented wort, sat waiting to be distilled. The distillery is owned by Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy, and produces a heavily peated Islay whisky. But Whisky was distilled there long before that. There are no documentations, as Ardbeg was an illegal business back in 1794. The distillery is now owned by LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy), which also owns Glenmorangie distillery in the Highlands of Scotland.
