Amahagan World Malt Edition No.3 is a Japanese malt whisky from Nagahama distillery, that has been finished in Mizunara wood. Aromas of orchard fruits, juicy oranges, sweet caramel and fragrant oak fill the nose, complemented by notes of Terry's Chocolate Orange, dark chocolate and citrus throughout the palate.

The island nation's smallest whisky distillery is located on Japan's largest lake, Lake Biwa.
Founded in 2016, Nagahama is part of a new generation of Japanese distilleries - and the result of the increasing demand for domestic premium products.
The team led by master blender Takashi Kiyoi distills the malty whisky spirit in just 26 square meters. The equipment for this adapts to the space: Nagahama works with the smallest pot stills in Japan. The alembic stills ensure extra fullness and depth.
The small craft distillery does not yet have enough whisky of its own.
To give connoisseurs a taste, Nagahama marries its own spirit with selected malt whiskies from around the world.
The result: the Amahagan World Malts.

The blended malt series includes four bottlings - each with a different cask finish.
The Japanese treated their third release, Amahagan Edition No. 3, to a finish in exclusive barrels made of Japanese Mizunara oak.
The barrels are particularly rare because the hardwood is difficult to work with.
They combine malty sweetness with warm wood tones, dark chocolate and citrus fruits.

The Amahagan Edition N°3 Mizunara Wood Finish was bottled in Mizunara barrels (Quercus Crispula), the famous Japanese oak, to emphasize the influence of different barrel types during maturation.

It displays a rich and complex profile with fruity notes of citrus fruits such as orange, gurmand notes of dark chocolate and oriental sugar, as well as spicy notes typical of whiskies matured in Mizunara casks.
