A typical Islay whisky is this vatted or blended malt from the Classic Range by Berry Bros. & Rudd.

The Classic Range presents the high-quality Berrys at an incredible price-performance ratio. Even if it is described as a blended malt on the label, it can also happen that the bottling also contains a single malt. In any case, even in the “normal” case, only single malts are used, which speaks for the high standards that Douglas McIvor and Ronnie Cox have for this series.

This blended malt whisky was created using a variety of Scotch whiskies distilled and matured on the island of Islay. Famous for peated and smoky expressions the barrels were sourced from the mosr well known distilleries on the island. The Berry Bros. & Rudd Classic Range was launched in 2018 and each blend is a wonderful representation of the style on the label.

Tasting Notes:

A bright, shimmering whisky with aromas of tar, Islay peat and garden fruits. The full taste is creamy with a light sweetness and a typical peat smoke note. The peat remains beautifully present in the finish.
