Campbeltown 8 Year Old 2016 Dram Mor Blended Malt Scotch Whisky Cask #111 1st Fill ex Heaven Hill Bourbon Barrel Finish (2024) 70cl
1 of 275 bottles produced
In Campbeltown there is Springbank, Glen Scotia and Glengyle so it doesn't take a genius to realise that at least two have to be here for a Blended Malt from Campbeltown to be possible although we have seen that there is not much Springbank to go around. However after a taste of this I think it will be quite prominent in terms of what is there.
It is astounding value for money especially when comparing to Wee Broon Electric Coo 7 Year Blended Malt and several others out there. Campbeltown Loch by SB themselves is also very good but so is this. You will be very pleases with this being at a higher ABV than Loch at 46%.
If you like any of the above distilleries (Kilkerran for Glengyle), then you will love this!
TASTING NOTES
Colour: Lemon Chiffon
Nose: Mellow maritime notes are more of a promise than a hard fact but it’s pulling you in that direction and using the bait of salt caramel to draw you in.
Palate: Oily and rich vanilla rubs shoulders with gently charred walnuts.
Finish: Lively and tingling. This finish is most definitely playful!
