Deanston have descried their 18 year old bottling as an "amplified" expression of their entry level 12 year old. The means more fudge, more ginger and more dry, woody spice. Fans of this light but spicy malt won't be disappointed.

Deanston 18 Year Old, an award-winning single malt Scotch Whisky from the Scottish Highlands. Packed with character, It has the Deanston waxiness but has lots of citrus and really pleasant and long lasting finish, as well as subtle spiciness and bit of sweetnessFirst matured for 16 years in traditional American oak casks that have previously held some of the finest bourbon. This allows the phenomenal Deanston new make to flourish and shine. It is then finished for 2 years in first fill ex-bourbon casks to create a fantastic flavour which is well rounded and balanced. Some would say, at least our Head of Distilleries would say, it reminds them of Orange Marmalade with lots of rind mixed through. Non-chill filtered and natural in colour, for a truly authentic character, colour and taste. A damn fine dram if we say so ourselves.
