This is a single butt of 2001 blended malt, aged for 23 years and bottled at natural cask strength of 45.1%. We finished it for a year in an ex-Ardbeg refill butt to see what would happen, we’re pretty delighted with the result.

It’s dark, rich, fruity, earthy and tastes like a glass of petrichor and smoked prunes! Exactly the sort of molten comfort blanket you know that you require several bottles of now that winter is barrelling down upon you.

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Full of dark fruits, jams, rich earthiness, tobaccos, toasted walnuts and delicate hints of medicine and a tiny glimmer of peppery peat! .

Palate: Very easy at this naturally drinkable strength! Still dominated by soft dark fruits, wood spices, gentle earthy smoke, camphor and hints of juniper and sultana.

Finish: Medium length, with great lingering dark fruit and rancio.
