Douglas Laing adds two special seasonal editions to a long line of festive bottlings within its Islay and Speyside Malt Scotch Whisky brands: Big Peat and Scallywag. Big Peat’s Christmas Edition is the first ever to be finished in Sherry Casks, truly capturing the flavour of Christmas. Scallywag’s Winter Edition stays true to itself with 100% Sherry Cask maturation from the finest Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso Sherry butts.

This edition in homage to the Northern Lights offers us aromas of gingerbread, spicy oak and orange peel on the nose. The palate reveals, layer after layer, cocoa, red fruit berries and praline malt. On the finish, dates appear with wild strawberries and winter spices. Full of indulgence and comfort, this blended malt will accompany you on cold winter evenings.

Scallywag’s fourth addition to the Annual Winter Series is a remarkably rich and robust combination of Speyside Single Malts, and is said to “deliver warm gingerbread, spiced oak and orange peel on the nose.” The palate reveals layers of cocoa and juicy berries with a nutty malt style. On the finish, Scallywag fans should “anticipate dates with forest fruits and winter spices.” This warming Winter Dram is bottled at a natural cask strength of 52.5% ABV and is proudly offered without colouring or chill-filtration. Presented in a premium mother-of-pearl gift tube, the Feisty Fox Terrier has travelled north to witness the awe-inspiring Northern Lights.
