This Fettercairn 16 year old was released as a core bottling for the Scottish whiskey brand in June 2020. This first bottling for 2020 contains chocolate malted (heavily malted) barley and is initially aged in first fill ex-bourbon American oak barrels. The single malt is then stored in sherry and port casks for the final two years of maturation. As the name suggests, this is the first in a series of single malts of this age for the brand.
