Glenfiddich 15 Year Old Solera Reserve (1981-1996) 70cl

Spaniards mash their sherry bottlings with the solera process. That's exactly what Glenfiddich does with this soft and fine single malt. Here whiskys of different finishes (Oloroso Sherry, Bourbon, new oak barrels) were married in a unique brine Oregon pinewood. It is therefore not a pure sherry cask whisky, as it was not stored in the Solera process, but only briefly married.

The family distillery is famous and respected, and holds the record for the most awards. Generations of whisky drinkers have come to rely on the famous label!

Distilled in 1981 and bottled in 1996 (thereabouts)

Nose

Honey with hints of wood and vanilla, complex spice and fresh fruit.

Palate

Honey again, perfectly balanced by delicate spice and Glenfiddich maltiness.

Finish

Medium length, with sherry notes and spiciness.

Comment

The sweetness is effortlessly balanced by drier oakiness.
