H. Deringer Bourbon is attribute to one of an American famous gunsmith Henry Derringer. He designed The Philadelphia Deringer - a popular concealed carry percussion handgun of the era. This whiskey was aged in new charred white oak casks, with only 2987 bottles made in the first release.

Because of their small size and easy availability, Deringers sometimes had the dubious reputation of being a favoured tool of assassins. The most famous Deringer used for this purpose was fired by John Wilkes Booth in the assassination of Abraham Lincoln.
