Introducing the first inaugural release from InchDairnie Distillery in Fife. This is a 2017 vintage, and is one of the most unusual Scotch whiskies on the market. As the name hints at, this is a single grain whisky with a mashbill comprising of 53% malted rye and 47% malted barley.

InchDairnie distillery is a treasure trove of intriguing whisky distilling equipment and ideas. To make RyeLaw, they use a mash filter instead of a mash tun, which helps process the extremely viscous rye grain. Technically they meet the specifications both for Scottish Single Grain, and American Rye (well, apart from not being made in America!).Double distilled, this rye was also partly distilled in their bespoke Lomond still, before being aged in new American oak.Having tasted RyeLaw, we think there is nothing in Scotland that quite resembles this spirit which has the balance and elegance of a malt whisky but the depth and spice of a Rye whisky; a fascinating new era for Scotch whisky.Official Tasting Notes Nose – Distinguished rye spiciness mingling with mellow oak above a soft layer of vanilla Palate – Cascading pepper from the rye caressingly wrapped in mouth-coating, oily viscosity and sweet biscuity, cereal and dried fruit notes
