Johnnie Walker 15 Year Old Green Label Art of Pure Malt Blended Malt Scotch Whisky (2005) 70cl
This is a 2005 bottle of JW Green Label Blended Malt.
Diageo own a lot of distilleries and make some pretty good blends these days. They own Lagavulin, Caol Ila, Oban, Cardhu, Knockando, Inchgower, Talisker, Port Ellen, Mortlach and many more. It is a monstrous company.
The Green label is a blend of just single malts with a 15 year age statement. Between 2013 and 2017, it was discontinued in almost all global markets - with the exception of Taiwan.
Johnnie Walker is arguably the most popular and recognisable blended Scotch on the market. Its core range includes the standard Red Label and Black Label, introduced in 1909 and named, quite simply, after their packaging. The iconic “striding man” motif was first drawn by Tom Browne the year prior. The premium Blue Label brand was introduced in 1992, and is composed using malt whisky from some of the most sought after distilleries in Diageo’s extensive portfolio. Today, many of these distilleries are only still with us due to their importance to the Johnnie Walker blends during the difficult 1980s period for the industry. A true champion of the whisky world.
TASTING NOTES

Palate: Mushrooms, iodine, cashews, and orange peel, with a sweet mid-palate featuring honey, almonds, and dates.
Finish: Black tea, peat smoke, and a touch of sea salt, balanced with a hint of sweetness.
