Kanosuke 2023 Limited Edition Cask Strength Japanese Single Malt Whisky (2023) 70cl

Kanosuke Distillery is located in Hioki, Kagoshima Province, the southernmost point of mainland Japan, along the coast of Fukiagehama, one of Japan's three largest sand dunes.

Kanosuke distillery commenced operations in 2017. The unusual aspect of Kanosuke is that it uses three pot stills (instead of the more normal two stills). This allows Kanosuke to produce different flavoured spirit as a result of different lyne arm angles.

The 2023 limited edition is made from 2018-2019 peated malt and bottled at cask strength.

TASTING NOTES

Colour:Deep yellow amber

Nose: Banana, custard cream, cinnamon candy, smoked daikon radish

Taste: Salted caramel, black tea, yatsuhashi, blood orange

Finish: Summer manadarin, szechuan pepper and gentle aroma of a bonfire.
