A lesser produced peated version of the Springbank spirit.

Kilkerran Single Malt is produced at the historic Campbeltown distillery, Glengyle, originally founded by the Mitchell family and owned by the J&A Mitchell group since its re-build and resumption of production in 2004.

We pride ourselves on completing all parts of the whisky production process here on site, from the traditional floor maltings conducted at our sister distillery, Springbank, to the bottling of every edition at our bottling hall here in Campbeltown. Sharing a production team and calendar with the neighbouring Springbank Distillery, Glengyle has a short production period of around three months per year, typically operational from October – December.

Glengyle is an independent, family run distillery based in Campbeltown, the historic whisky capital of the world.

The original Glengyle Distillery produced whisky between 1872-1925 but in 2004, after 79 non-producing years, the distillery reopened under Mitchell’s Glengyle Ltd in 2004.

This secured Campbeltown’s status as a whisky region.

Kilkerran is made with the same attention to detail as Springbank – no chill-filtering, bottled at 46%, like all the others. It’s a supreme example of the finest Scotch.

Kilkerran 16 joined Glengyle’s core range in 2020, and releases annually. With each annual release the maturation can vary slightly, thus giving enthusiasts a fresh take on the 16 year old with each year. The interplay of oak, sherry influence, and the distillery’s mineral-rich spirit results in a whisky of exceptional depth and elegance
