Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch #9 70cl

Batch 9 of Kikerran’s heavily peated has been matured In 90% bourbon casks and 10% sherry casks.

There were an unknown number of bottles in this release.

This whisky has a unique nose of opens up to reveal citrus notes, vanilla cheesecake, rhubarb and custard sweets with delicate peat smoke, complimented by freshly bakeed bramley apple pie and sweet salted caramel. the peat is prolific yet well integrated. a fresh coastal influence evokes memories of a blustery, busy, sea sprayed harbour on the palate, and topped off by a long and creamy, notes of toasted oak and pencil shavings give away to a lasting sweet, fruity peat smoke finish.

The initial core 12 year old became available in 2016. There is now also a very heavily peated Kilkerran which takes up only a small part of the main production.
