An exquisite and rarely available to purchase edition of Macallan. Only 2500 bottles were made of the Genesis to mark the new Distillery.

Out with the old, in with the new. That’s the message behind this release to celebrate the opening of Macallan’s new distillery, but while Genesis is looking to the future don’t think for a second it glosses over the Aberlour titans’ roots. Each lithographic print included with the stunning display box is hand signed by lead architect Graham Stark

CELEBRATING THE MACALLAN DISTILLERY AND VISITOR EXPERIENCE

The Macallan Genesis Limited Edition marks the creation of the iconic Distillery in a unique collaboration with internationally acclaimed architects Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners. The special bottling tells the distinctive story of Senior Partner and Lead Architect, Graham Stirk’s vision for the aesthetic of the new Distillery and reflects each step in The Macallan whisky making process. Graham Stirk visualised the new Distillery cut into the slope of the land, taking its cues from ancient Scottish hills and maximising the aesthetic beauty of the building while minimising the visual impact on the Speyside landscape. The undulating timber roof structure deliberately echoes the rolling slopes of the surrounding countryside, while the gently curving walls celebrate the mastery of all that happens within.

A COMPLEX AND MASTERFUL WHISKY

A UNIQUE STATEMENT IN ARCHITECTURE AND WHISKY MAKING

The Genesis Limited Edition whisky is presented in a beautiful gift box featuring a signed lithographic print of the Distillery by lead architect Graham Stirk that depicts an elevation of the revolutionary building to showcase the intricate workings of the design and reveal the mystery behind this architectural work of art.

Encapsulating the concept of the Distillery, displaying both the overall form and the precise detail of the building to portray the scale and complexity at the same time, the print was created on one of only two remaining map printing presses in the UK. Printed on archival cotton paper of the highest quality produced by Magnani – an Italian fine art paper mill dating back to the 15th century – with appropriate care, the print will never degrade.

Subtle sweet dried fruits, oak, fresh apple and chocolate.

PALATE

Subtle spices (cinnamon), ginger, chocolate, an elegant mouth coating, the dried fruits on the taste are far more intense than on the nose.

FINISH

Medium length, sweet yet dry. A clean and warming finish.
