Old Grand-Dad Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey (1988) US Import 75cl
Rare bottlings of Old Grand Dad do not come by very often. This is bottled in 1988 and distilled in the mid 80s.
This amazing dusty bourbon brand (well, in this case dusty, as it was produced by the long gone National Distillers Inc., but Jim Beam still makes it today) was created by Raymond B. Hayden in the late 19th century. He named the brand after his grandfather Meredith Basil Hayden Sr., known as the ‘Father of High Rye Bourbon’. The Old Grand-Dad brand was acquired by Jim Beam in 1987. They made it into an inferior bottom shelf stinker, but this bottle comes from the golden days of yesteryear: bottled in 1977 at 80 proof. It was exported to the Italian market.
A piece of bourbon history in the USA. Have a taste of 40 years ago!
