Sakurao Single Malt Whisky (2022) 70cl

The Sakurao Single Malt comes from the Japanese Sakurao distillery near Hiroshima. This whisky consists largely of malted barley and matured in ex-bourbon, American oak, ex-sherry and Mizunara oak barrels. The barrels are stored in the immediate vicinity of the distillery, where highly fluctuating weather conditions ensure exceptional maturation. The Sakurao Single Malt is bottled at 43.0% vol., in its natural color and without chill filtration.

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Very fine smoke in the foreground, accompanied by honeydew melon, lime and a hint of mint.

Palate: Complex and spicy on the tongue. Elderberry harmonizes with grapefruit and exotic spices.

Finish: Medium length, with impressions of green apples and pine nuts.
