Strathearn 2019 Single Cask #10 PX-Sherry (2024) For Two Happy Owners 70cl
Bottled from one of the first casks to be produced by Douglas Laing. It is scarce to see these anywhere. Everyone was aware of the inaugural release in 2024 but not of anything else that they released at distillery or in private
This is a single casking from being 5 years in an Pedro Ximenez sherry cask
Strathearn guarantees that every batch of whisky produced from its tiny stills will be unique. Some will be double-distilled, some triple, using a mixture of peated and unpeated malt, as well as a variety of 50-litre casks, including Sherry, rum and Bourbon. It also produces a range of gins and rums.
The tiny Perthshire distillery of Strathearn could reasonably be described as a "craft" distillery. As well as producing rum and gin, their small Alambic stills can be used to produce whisky, which they do in relatively small batches. However, in addition to traditional Scotch whisky, they have also been known to experiment with alternate wood types for maturation, such as mulberry, cherry and chestnut. Those rascally renegades! That ought to ruffle a few feathers at the Scotch Whisky Association. Now in the hands of Independent bottlers Douglas Laing, Production has now been increased.
