A beautiful bottle of Teaninich Highlands whisky (pronounced Tee-Ninik)

The first cask editions that were distilled in the 70s and 80s bring a musky, older taste to what we have normally been used to trying at other places. today, the liquid in them is now more than 40 years in existence although of course, bottled at 23 years and whilst no additional aging occurs in the bottles, simply existing brings some slow changes in the whisky. Anyone who has opened a much older bottle will attest to this unexplained side of whisky post bottling.

Teaninich is a bit of a forgotten soul compared to many of it's Highland neighbours, being used as it is so much for blending. However there are many lovely bottlings if you dig around and this one looks to be one of them, especially considering the distillery really hits its stride during its 20s. Should be cracking whisky.
