Torabhaig - Batch Strength (The Legacy Series #3) Allt Gleann 70cl

This heavily-peated whisky from Torabhaig distillery was bottled at cask-strength and offers further insight into its distillery style. Aromas of smoked heather, blossom honey, barley sugars and salty sea air fill the nose, complemented by notes of vanilla ice cream, bonfire smoke, hot tar, oily brine and sweet spices throughout the palate.

About the distillery

Sir Iain Noble moved to the Isle of Skye in 1972 and founded independent blender and bottler Pràban na Linne (Gaelic Whiskies) in 1976. He planned to convert a 19th century listed farm steading at Torabhaig into a distillery, obtaining planning permission for the project as early as 2002. He sadly passed away in 2010 before his plans could be realised. Mossburn Distillers took over the site and set to work renovating the property in 2013.

Torabhaig is a traditional farm steading-turned distillery. Skye’s second distillery is configured to produce a traditional island-style malt whisky – medium-weight and medium-peated with a long fermentation in wooden washbacks and plenty of copper interaction providing a fruit-forward spirit.
