Tullibardine 8 Year Old 2015 Dram Mor Single 1st Fill Pedro Ximenez Sherry Hogshead Cask #143 (2023) 70cl
1 of 233 bottles
An 8 Year Old 1st Fill single casking of a Tullibardine from the Scottish Highlands.
During its Invergordon era, Tullibardine was set up to produce a light, nutty malt which was mostly used when young and aged in refill casks for buyer-own blends.
The requirements of a single malt house – which Tullibardine became – necessitated some tweaking of the spirit run (introducing more high-toned floral notes now coming to the fore, with the nuttiness being dialled down) and a more 21st century wood policy with a massive influx of fresh casks.
About Dram Mor
Dràm Mòr is an independent spirits bottler established in 2019 by husband and wife team Kenny and Viktorija Macdonald. The company started as an export agency for Scottish brands, but as demand for independent, high-quality spirits increased, we decided it was time to venture into the world of independent bottling. They provide bespoke single cask spirits to 14 countries worldwide and they're delighted to grow the business portfolio to include a range of spirits along with carefully selected whiskies. Today, their products can be found in specialty spirits retailers, Michelin Star restaurants, and bespoke wine and gourmet outlets worldwide. Viktorija and Kenny both have backgrounds working for Whisky companies and are the co-founders of the Mòr Whisky Club held at Oran Mòr, Glasgow.
TASTING NOTES
Colour: Linseed oil
Nose: Not as sweet as expected with a mild Sherry note. Not the big hitting Pedro Xeminex that was expected.
Palate: Amazingly well balanced dram. Stewed fruits married with chocolate in a Cadbery’s fruit and nut still sweetness dipped lovingly into a single espresso.
Finish: Deliciously long and lasting.
