Talisker Skye Single Malt Scotch Whisky is distilled in the oldest distillery on the Isle of Skye. The single malt is an ode to the contrasting landscape of the Isle of Skye, while its aroma and taste transport you straight to its rugged, maritime home. Talisker Skye delivers everything you would expect from a whisky from this distillery. It combines flavours of sweet smoke and peppery spice with notes of fresh citrus fruit to create a lively whisky experience that culminates in a long-lasting, warming finish. After distillation, this bottling is matured in American refill as well as charred oak casks. Talisker Skye is best enjoyed neat or with a little water to open up the intense flavour a little and cleanse the palate, in-between. The spirit is the brainchild of a multi-award-winning single malt whisky family and was awarded gold at the International Wine and Spirits Competition 2015 . It is the ideal whisky gift for adventurous free spirits looking for a good introduction to the smoky whiskies of the island.
Tasting Notes
Skye is the fresher, lighter brother of the 10-year-old Talisker. The crisp citrus aromas and subtle sweetness are enhanced by the ageing in refill and charred American oak casks, which provide depth of flavour. Under the smoke you can taste soft fruits and cereal notes with a distinct peppery finish.
