About Ben Nevis (Dew of Ben Nevis)

The Dew of Ben Nevis name has long associations with the distillery with bottled labelled as Long John's Dew of Ben Nevis as early as the late 19th century. The blended Scotch brand originated in the 1970s however, briefly marketed between the distillery's closure and its acquisition by Whitbread in 1981.

The brand did not resurface until 1992 when it was registered as a trademark of the distillery by owners, the Nikka Whisky Distilling Co. They marketed various age-statements as well as releasing some of the distillery's "blended-at-birth" whisky from the 1960s. The brand was eventually renamed Nevis Dew around 2011. Although the Dew of Ben Nevis trademark eventually lapsed in 2020, it was renewed by the company the following year, as was Nevis Dew.
