The bespoke 21 Year Old expression was crafted in a co-blending session at the iconic Strathisla Distillery. Harris Reed joined Master Blender Sandy Hyslop to share his personal style and tastes during the blending process, which were echoed in the flavour profile of the blend. The unique addition of Sherry matured Braeval and American Oak matured Glenburgie give the whisky a sweet and spicy signature style, resulting in a superbly rich whisky with a vibrant, complex palate.
Tasting Notes
Nose : Notes of fresh red apples, homemade raspberry jam and crème brûlée combine with swirls of nutty hazelnut praline, hints of cinnamon and sweet toasted oak.
Palate : Pear crumble, creamy vanilla fudge and toasted almonds from the extra charred virgin oak barrel are complemented by Sherry matured Braeval, bringing notes of raisin, gooseberry jam, lively ginger and hints of clove.
Finish : Rich, complex and spicy.
