Tasting Notes
Nose : Soft pastry dusted with cinnamon, pear and hints of dried earth.
Palate : Nutty malt complemented by milk chocolate, joined by a helping of caraway.
Finish : Peppercorn, vanilla and a lingering peatiness.
About Togouchi
Togouchi is a brand of whisky from Sakurao Distillery in Hiroshima, Japan, which matured in an abandoned railway tunnel that creates a unique microclimate for aging. While the original Togouchi whisky was a blend of imported Scotch malt and Canadian grain whiskies that were blended and naturalized in Japan, recent production from Sakurao's own distillery in Hiroshima has also produced 100% Japanese-origin single malt and grain whiskies, all matured in the unique tunnel environment.
