Cotswolds Signature English Single Malt Scotch Whisky (2025) 5cl Miniature
The first whisky ever made in the Cotswolds, our award-winning Cotswolds Signature Single Malt Whisky is crafted using the finest locally grown, traditionally floor-malted Cotswold barley. Belonging to our Classics Collection, our Signature Single Malt favours the rich and bold, fruity notes which result from maturation in our highly active STR (Shaved, Toasted and Re-charred) ex-red wine barriques. Blended with whisky matured in premium first-fill ex-Bourbon barrels, this single malt has notes of honey, red fruits and a hint of treacle.
TASTING NOTES
Maturation in highly active STR (Shaved, Toasted and Re-charred) ex-red wine barriques gives it rich, bold, fruity notes, balanced with whisky from premium first-fill ex-Bourbon barrels - resulting in flavours of honey, red fruit and a hint of treacle.
About The Cotswolds
Cotswolds Distillery, established in 2014, is renowned for its award-winning English whiskies and gins, crafted in the picturesque Cotswolds region of England.
Cotswolds Distillery was founded in 2014 by Daniel Szor, a New Yorker who fell in love with the Cotswolds. The distillery has quickly gained recognition for its high-quality spirits, becoming a significant player in the English whisky scene. The first cask of single malt whisky was filled on September 22, 2014, and the first release occurred in October 2017, after the whisky had matured for at least three years
The distillery specializes in single malt whisky, gin, and various liqueurs. It uses local ingredients, with 100% of the barley sourced from nearby farms. The production process involves traditional methods, including the use of copper pot stills for distillation. The distillery produces approximately 300,000 bottles of whisky annually, with a focus on quality and flavour.
As of 2024, Cotswolds Distillery continues to expand its offerings and production capacity, aiming to double its whisky production to about 200,000 liters per year. The distillery has also been recognized as one of the most popular whisky distilleries among visitors, reflecting its growing reputation in the spirits industry.
