DYC Destilerías Y Crianza 15 Year Old American White Oak Matured Spanish Single Malt Whisky (2019) 70cl
Whisky from the first Spanish Whisky distillery established 60 years ago.
This 15 Year Old was originally released in 2019 to mark the distillery's 60th anniversary.
The DYC 15 Year Single Malt is a masterpiece from the Segovian distillery Destilerías y Crianza del Whisky SA, and represents the ultimate expression of Spanish whisky.
A limited-edition single malt (which will never be produced again) paying tribute to Nicomedes García , founder of the DYC distilleries, who, in 1959, "dared to dream of the first Spanish whisky made from raw materials from our terroir." After an exhaustive search, he found the ideal location to realize his project in Segovia. There, the most extraordinary grains, the purest water of the Eresma River, and the altitude, over a thousand meters above sea level, which influence the air quality and the rate of evaporation of the whisky, give this magnificent 15-year-old DYC its unique character. Sixty years have now passed since Nicomedes' dream became a reality, and DYC pays tribute to him with DYC 15, its most exclusive whisky.
Made exclusively from 100% malted barley and aged for 15 years in American oak barrels, this single malt whisky stands out for its complexity and character.
DYC 15 Year Old is perfect for whisky lovers seeking quality, tradition, and a sophisticated profile. Its extended maturation process and artisanal production make it an exceptional choice to enjoy on special occasions.
TASTING NOTES
Appearance: Deep amber colour with golden and copper highlights, evidence of its long maturation time.
Nose: Rich and enveloping aromas of honey, vanilla and caramel, complemented by notes of dried fruits such as almonds and walnuts, as well as a touch of toasted wood and sweet spices such as cinnamon and clove.
Palate: It is silky and elegant, with intense flavours of toffee, sweet malt, and ripe fruits such as apple and pear. The touch of oak adds a spicy and slightly smoky profile. The finish is long, warm, and persistent, with hints of cocoa and a gentle touch of wood.
