The Indian single malt is made in the province of Haryana in northern India from the classic 6-row Indian barley.
After the bottling The Three Wood came onto the market as the first standard bottling, the single casks now provide further insight into the world of the distillery.
It is very rare to see single casks from Indri for sale outside of India.
TASTING NOTES:
Nose: Oranges, iodine, Worcestershire sauce, cat food, vanilla, malt, ginger ale, glucose, artificial cherry flavour, oak spice.
Palate: Strong and also sharp at the start. Sweet, fruity, spicy, a little pepper, delicious. Broth, iodine pastilles, Emser salt, Manuka honey, oranges, sauerbraten, mint, strong oak spices.
Finish: Emser salt, iodine, EM-EUKAL cherry, caramel, oak.
About Indri
Indri Single Malt Whisky is an Indian single malt whisky produced by Piccadilly Agro Industries Limited. The brand was introduced in 2021 and officially launched in 2022. It is named after the village of Indri in Haryana's Karnal district, where the distillery is located.
The Indri brand was developed by Piccadily Agro Industries Limited in the early 2020s as part of India's expanding premium whisky market. The first expression, Indri–Trini (The Three Wood), was launched in late 2022 developed under Surinder Kumar. The whisky is produced using six-row Indian barley grown in Rajasthan, distilled in copper pot stills, and matured in a combination of oak casks.
After its launch, Indri entered export markets including the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia. In 2023, the Indri Diwali Collector's Edition won the "Best in Show, Double Gold" distinction at the Whiskies of the World Awards. In 2025, Indri received further awards at the World Whiskies Awards and expanded distribution to Europe and Middle East markets.
According to The Economic Times and Business Standard, Indri was reported as the fastest-growing single malt whisky brand in 2024 with a sale of 170,000 cases worldwide.
