Jack Daniel’s Heroes Selection Military Personnel Exclusive Single Barrel Barrel Proof 126.4 Proof Military Personnel Exclusive Tennessee Bourbon Whiskey (2025) 75cl
The Jack Daniel’s Heroes Selection Single Barrel Barrel Proof Tennessee Bourbon Whiskey is an exclusive release honouring veterans and active military personnel. Part of Jack Daniel’s limited Heroes Selection series, Twin brothers and Army veterans JB and LB McGowan have selected this year’s limited-edition Single Barrel Barrel Proof Tennessee Whiskey, continuing Jack Daniel’s tradition of honouring military service members with an exclusive annual release.
The 2025 Heroes Selection marks the third annual release in Jack Daniel’s military-exclusive series, featuring a high-proof Tennessee whiskey that ranges between 125 and 140 proof. Selected by the McGowan twins, who have worked at the Lynchburg distillery for decades after their Army service, this year’s expression showcases the expertise of both military veterans and seasoned whiskey makers.
According to the official tasting notes, the whiskey opens with an aroma of sweet brown sugar, followed by smooth layers of warm baking spices balanced by toasted oak and a hint of smoke. The finish delivers long, lingering notes of vanilla, tobacco, and spice. Each bottle comes in a collectible gift box featuring a military-inspired medallion.
The Heroes Selection represents one facet of Jack Daniel’s broader military support initiatives. Since 2011, the distillery’s Operation Ride Home campaign has partnered with the Armed Services YMCA to raise more than $4 million, helping over 14,000 junior-enlisted service members and their families travel home during the holidays. The 2024 campaign set records for both fundraising and the number of service members assisted.
About Jack Daniel's
Jack Daniel's is the best-selling American whiskey in the world. Despite that fact it can legally be categorised as a straight bourbon, it has always shunned this title, preferring to market itself as a Tennessee Whiskey. These are similar to straight bourbons but have the additional requirement of having been filtered through maple wood charcoal, a practice known as the Lincoln County Process. History has not always given the distillery an easy ride though. Tennessee was an early adopter of Prohibition in 1910, and one of the last to repeal it in 1938 (five years later than the repeal at Federal level). Even today the distillery is still located in a "dry" county, meaning none of its products are sold in its hometown or those around it. The distillery was then only operational for four years before being forced to close again during the second world war. Ten years later it was purchased by the Brown-Forman corporation and its fortunes turned for good. Its classic black-labelled Old No.7 brand (named after the distillery’s original DSP number) is now a globally recognised product.
