"The marketing malt returns – and with it, a provocation: What happens when we break free from the tyranny of house style and allow wood, time, and spirit to enter into a genuine dialogue, instead of staging them? Two European oak casks from 2005, first filled, matured for twenty years, were married, and bottled at 57.1% ABV (100 proof). The result is a whisky of such astonishing complexity that it feels less like a single malt and more like a symposium of influences: the ancient charm of Armagnac, the opulence of classic sherry, and the wood-forward modernity – all united in one glass, miraculously harmonious."

TASTING NOTES

On the nose, it presents itself like a cabinet of curiosities: 40-year-old Bas-Armagnac over plums and sultanas, Demerara rum cocktails, a burlap sack, bitter dark chocolate, roasted game. It is the olfactory equivalent of a baroque painting: dense, multi-layered, unabashedly maximalist.

On the palate, this aesthetic abundance continues in a deliberate manner: dark chocolate, espresso, roasted pheasant, concentrated dark fruits, tar extracts, herbal bitters, woodruff. Each element pushes to the forefront, yet still retains its structure.

The finish lingers with rich chocolate, complex herbal notes, mulled wine spices, and walnut liqueur – a long, contemplative aftertaste that rewards patience. This is not a whisky for the masses. It is a deliberate provocation, a reminder that complexity needs no justification, that richness speaks for itself. A mosaic of ideas held together not by simplification, but by sheer strength of character.
