Mars Tsunuki ages their whisky on Yakushima Island. Due to the climate on the southernmost island hyper ageing is achieved making the whisky age much faster than in Scotland meaning you have a whisky that tastes beyond its years and provides a subliminal experience and showcases the best of what is achievable in Japan. 

Mars is lesser known in the west due to less leaving Japan. After having tried many of them we can tell you that Mars is the real deal. 

Tasting Notes

Nose : mandarin citrus, orange juice, malt cereal, hints of meat, white flower

Palate : vanilla, malty, white oak, clove, stewed meat, then turns to orange juice, mango, smoked wood, and bbq meat

Finish : long, dry, heated. ginger spice, oaky, orange juice, stewed meat
