A high cask strength wheated bourbon from Nulu's sister company New Louisville Whiskey Co exclusive to stores in Kentucky only. (And also here at Whisky Situation). New Louisville barrels have been quietly aging at NULU's Louisville warehouse for years - heat cycling, building both higher age statements and peak maturity. The result: a more limited, premium tier from the NULU team.

This single barrel wheated straight bourbon has been selected to exemplify premium whiskey. A deep and dark wheated bourbon selected out of many barrels to be right for bottling with a strong character that packs a punch as you would expect.
One of Nulu's nuclear creation bourbons that have a huge amount of flavour despite their high ABVs. Known as 'Hazmat' bourbons where hazardous is one way to describe them. One would think in the UK or outside of the US 'Who would buy these?' But they always sell out. These are heat cycled and often put up on high up floors like the 8th or 9th floor.
In a Rickhouse, the higher stacked barrels often go up in ABV and mature at a higher intensity also due to the water evaporating. So it turns out it is not simply bourbon with a higher ABV for the sake of it. It is just not so common to be daring to venture into this territory. It is not for the faint mouthed let us say.

A portion of the maturation took place at PCS Distilling’s warehouse where the barrel was heat-cycled, introducing temperature variation to raise proof and viscosity.
TASTING NOTES
It opens with rich notes of burnt sugar, toffee, and toasted spice, wrapped in a buttery, full-bodied texture. The palate is intense but balanced, with layers of dark caramel, leather, and baking spice. A long, dry finish lingers with oak tannin and just enough heat to keep things lively.
