In a Rickhouse, the higher stacked barrels often go up in ABV and mature at a higher intensity also due to the water evaporating. So it turns out it is not simply bourbon with a higher ABV for the sake of it. It is just not so common to be daring to venture into this territory. It is not for the faint mouthed let us say.

This limited edition single barrel offering showcases passion from a producer that strive to bottle only the best. Curated by our tasting team, we taste thousands of barrels and begin planning. New Louisville Whiskey Co barrels have been in our plans for years, having been earmarked for a special day. Today marks that day, this barrel has reached peak maturity. A portion of the maturation took place at PCS Distilling’s warehouse where the barrel was heat-cycled, introducing temperature variation to raise proof and viscosity.

These barrels are earmarked in the warehouse for this exclusive, private barrel label that features bourbons bottled at peak maturity with a minimum eight years of age.

Created in 2016 by Prohibition Craft Spirits, Nulu represents the core brand for the Louisville based non-distilling producer. PCS sources these expressions from Ross and Squibb distillery (formerly MGP) but applies their own take on finishing and blending to create everything from single barrels, toasted finishes, Calvados cask finishes, wine casks, brandy finishes, French oak and much more.
