About River Roots Barrel Co

Our company roots were planted along the Cuyahoga River by residents of Cleveland with a passion for all spirits (though, admittedly, we completely geek out over bourbon and rye whiskey). We know what a good pour tastes like, so we set out on a mission to find the best barrels of whiskey in the world to share with fellow enthusiasts.

The dream of a boutique whiskey establishment began with Ryan Lintz and Tom Gray sipping bourbon in the backyard. Ryan and Michael Boland, who had met through the Cleveland Bourbon Club, then began seriously investigating how this wild idea could become a reality. Michael Boland’s existing connections with Cleveland celebrity chef Michael Symon helped to forge great relationships among those who would become the key members of the team. River Roots was created by a group of people both passionate and knowledgeable about whiskey with the simple mission of curating the best selection of spirits.

At River Roots, every barrel that gets selected must meet the extremely high standards of our team.
